Classic wines

The TROVISCAL brand aims to offer wines with a classic character, in the traditional style of Portuguese wines, which almost always combine several grape varieties, in the search for a harmonious balance between alcohol, acidity, sweetness and tannins. Each bottle reflects our dedication to the art of blending, preserving the essence and authenticity of the wines from our region. Within this concept, the brand presents two distinct profiles: one, of assertive, seductive and easy-to-drink wines, perfect for everyday use and for young consumers; the other, of top-of-the-range, ambitious and complex wines, created to accompany good cuisine and to satisfy the most demanding palates.

TROB17

TROVISCAL BRANCO

White wines based on the Arinto grape variety, generally blended with Chardonnay and/or Moscatel Graúdo.

The grapes are harvested mechanically. After destemming and crushing, they are pressed slowly and with precise control over the must extraction conditions. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, without the presence of skins and with temperature control. Wood is never used. Bottling generally takes place in the early spring following the harvest.

These wines are citrus-colored and have a strong floral aroma, sometimes of lychee and pear if the Moscatel grape variety is present. They are engaging and persistent wines, which denote the freshness conferred by Arinto. Excellent to drink as an aperitif or to accompany seafood and fish. They should be consumed at 10-12ºC.

Troviscal Rosado

TROVISCAL ROSADO

Rosé wines produced from red grape varieties, usually Pinot Noir or Touriga Nacional.

The grape harvest is almost always mechanical, although in more promising years the harvest is done by hand. After the grapes have been destemmed and crushed, they are pressed very gently, extracting a very clear must. Fermentation begins in stainless steel vats, without the skins and at a temperature of between 10 and 13ºC. Bottling takes place in the spring following the harvest.

These are salmon or light ruby colored wines with an intense aroma of spices. Always very elegant, fresh and delicate, they are excellent as an aperitif or to accompany seafood and sushi. They can also be drunk with white meats. They should be consumed at around 10ºC.

TROVISCAL TINTO "RESERVE"

Blended red wines, which always contain Touriga Nacional, to which Syrah, Pinot Noir or Merlot are added in percentages that vary from year to year. In recent years they have always received the "Reserve" certification.

The grape varieties are vinified separately, with destemming and crushing, followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats for around 10 days, with temperature control and controlled pumping over. The aging process lasts 12 to 24 months, partly in stainless steel vats and partly in used French oak barrels.

These wines are garnet in color, with violet reflections and aromas of red fruits. They are full-bodied and complex, with a harmonious structure and long-lasting flavor. They are particularly interesting to accompany grilled or oven-roasted red meats.

QUINTA DO CERRADO DA PORTA BRANCO "DRY RESERVE"

A unique edition with this designation, this white wine was created to age. Exclusively produced with Arinto grapes, from a vineyard where the Atlantic influence imposes cool nights, misty mornings and sunny and windy afternoons. The variety is very well suited to this harsh climate, highlighting its typical acidity.

The harvest took place in mid-September. After destemming, crushing and pressing the grapes, fermentation began under controlled temperature and without the presence of the skins. Bottling took place the following spring.

Yellow-colored wine with a nose of ripe fruit. On the palate, it is dry and structured, with a sophisticated texture and assertive acidity, in a harmonious combination with a long finish. It ages remarkably well. It is excellent with marinades and all fish dishes. It should be drunk between 8 and 10ºC.
